York state campaign for a third term in the White House with the declaration that Mr. Roosevelt's defeat in the November elections would "weaken the resistance of free nations and blast the hopes of millions of people who love liber In the "key note" address at the ow York State Democratic Convention last night, Governor Lehman termed President Roosevelt a "symbol of democracy. and freedom."
He said nothing could happen i the United States that would give Germany, Italy, Japan and -Russia more satisfaction than the defeat of President Roosevelt.
