Princé~ Furhimaro Konoye this afternoon at 2 o'clock presided at the meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the new political structure and read his manifesto outlining his plans and intentions for the movement.
Members of his Cabinet representing the Government, together with Mr. Fumio Goto, Count Yoriyasu Arima and 23 others previously selected as members of the body, met in the Premier's official residence to constitute themselves into the Committee, assisted by the group of seven Permanent Managers, already chosen, headed by Mr. Kenji Tomita, Chief Cabinet Secretary.
Following the reading of the manifesto by Prince Konoye, the meeting was thrown open for informal discussion of the whole subject, and the Premier readily answered many questions put to him by conferees.
General principles and methods of procedure will be discussed at further length at future meetings of the Preparatory Committee which represents all walks of life in Japan—Domei.
