Anglo-U: S. Secret Agreement Alleged

Senator Speaks of Accord For Ca-operative Action In Far East

Washington, Aug. 28.

Senator Rush D. Holt, West Virginia Democrat, yesterday told the Senate that "it is generally understood that the United States and Britain have an agreement" for cooperative action lin the Far East.

The public has not been informed, but Administration circles understand that the agreement exists, Senator Holt declared. He charged that when the full facts are known in the future it will be found that there were "more secret understandings by this Administration than by any other."

Senator Ernest Lundeen, Minnesota arm-Labourite, also criticized the alleged United States cooperation with Britain in Asia and warned that this cooperation may lead the United States into war.

"If Japan ever fights us," he declared, "it will not be in the Hawaiian region er around San Francisco. It will be in Japanese waters where we must extend our communication lines from 5,000 to 7,000 miles." The remarks of Senators Holt and Lundeen interrupted the Senate debate on the Conscription Bill—United Press.
