Technique of Dressing for Parties

How the Business Girl May — Prink at Leisure

If you are a lady of leisure, one party means much the same as another, says Lois Ardwyn. You can take your time about it. But it's the girl who works in an office all day, and arrives at the party looking like a million dollars, for whom I have the greatest admiration. It's no easy. job to work hard until five-thirty or six, straphang all the way home, get changed and go out again with probably less than an hour to dress, and arrive at the party giving a very fair imitation of a, lovely film star, who has had all day to achieve her love-lines. So I thought it would be a help if I worked cut a plan to prepare sav I have discovered for for a party, with some of the time-

If.

To begin with. the evening before the party I always get all my clothes ready. Undies, shoes, stockings, evening bag with everything I need—including the money for the cloak-room—all inside (you've no idea what time this alone saves), dress pressed, if necessary, and then left hanging outside my clothes closet so that every crease will be out by the time I come to put it on.

To save any unnecessary rushing about have your hair and nails done the day before. Of course, if you have a good setting lotion, and some of the clever and very easy-touse gadgets there are to be had these dàys there is no reason why you should not shampoo and set own hair the night before.

The night before is also the time to give yourself your pet face pack to make your skin look clear and radiant. "There is a face pack to suit and improve every. type of skin, so it is only a matter of careful selection.

This brings us to the'great day. Take my advice, and, from the moment you step into the office, forget that you are going to a party. You've done all you can to prepare for it, and now your time, mind and energies belong to your employer. Give them to him and then he won't begrudge your leaving sharp on time.
