Dairen Citizens Oppose Plan to Abolish Autonomy Dairen, Aug. 20.
A resolution declaring absolute opposition to the plan of the Japanese Foreign Office for restoration of the South Manchuria Railway Zone to Manchouluo and the abolition of extraterritoriality in Manchuria was adopted at a mass meeting of Dairen, citizens to-day.
'The meeting, held in the Dairen 'Theatre, was sponsored by the Dairen Chamber of Commerce and the leading local newspapers. Mayor One and other leading citizens delivered speeches opposing the proposal 'The following' resolutions were passed and immediately cabled to the Foreign OMice in Tokyo:
1. Absolute opposition to immediate restoration of the administrative rights in the Railway Zone to the Manchoukuo Government, 2. Demand for readjustment of Japanese administrative organs in Manchuria by appointment of an. administrative governor under the Japanese Ambassador to Manchoukxuo—United Press.
