Kanze is the residence of a Lama Saviour who was once a candidate for the position of Dalai Lama. When the lot was cast in Lhasa it feel on three boys, one in Kanze, one in Mulee, and one in Gada. The latter became the Dalai Lama, and consolation prize, the boys in Kanze and Mulee grew up known as Lama Saviours, a title only held by the Dalai in Lhasa.
