According to these measures, the dredging of the Creek will be undertaken jointly by the Kiangsu Provineial Government and the Greater Shanghai Municipal Government. The Provincial Government will fat lend to the work on the upper section of the Creek while the Municipal Government will undertake the work on the Tower section.
According to present plans, the work on the upper section will be completed in three years. An annual sum of $90,000 will be appropriated by the Kiangsu Provincial Government, Work on the lower section will require at. Toast. §200,000 annually to Begin with $50,000 will be provided the Greater Shanghai Municipal Government; the remainder will be raised by the Shanghai City Chamber of Commerce, and the various ghpping Interests - concerned—Kuo The principal dimensions are:—Length "overall 41 ft, length on waterline 33 ft, extreme beam 12 ft, maximum draught 6 ft the total displacement tonnage being about 17 tons.
