Reich Seeks Maliin Support

Rome, Sept. 30.

Germany now was striving to secure full and unreserved Italian support for her aims, Italian political quarters declared today in commenting on the departure for Berlin of Count Galeazzo Ciano, the Italian Foreign Minister.

General impressions here this evening were that German leaders found a need to establish anew personal contacts with Count Ciano as a representative of the Italian Govern. ment to inform him of the Ribbentrap-Molotoff parleys in Moscow and examine possible developments in the European and international situation. Germany, it was stated, wished to reach agreement with Italy on action to follow eventual offers of peace to the Western Democracies. They hoped for unconditional Italian support, In the face of the probable reject tion of its peace proposals, Italian observers said, the Reich wished to obtain a definition of Italian neutrality as favourable to its interests as possible.

Results of conversations in Berlin by Count Ciano are therefore awaited here with the utmost interest—Havas.
