Harassed for days by victorious Japanese detachments which cay tured this strategic town after a Ughtning advance over the plains of western Suiyuan, Chinese stragglers were facing "annihilation" in the sector west of Shanpa, Japanese commanders here claimed today.
One Japanese detachment was said to have virtually wiped out remnants of the cis Division under Gen, Tung Defeated Chinese units were scat tered in disorder over a wide area in the northwest, according to field dispatches. With the exception " of remnants which fled into Ninghsia Province most of them were wand Ing about aimlessly seeking an escape route along the Wuchia River, west of Shanpa—Domel.
